Glen Ridge is for independent 55+ members. Independent means the member is able to fully participate in the life of the Community.
There are no steps to or in the units at Glen Ridge except for access to the basements. Residents are generally in very good health and pursue independent living. A few are still employed. Those who do have health issues may employ helpers for household tasks, therapy, and other needs.
Glen Ridge is composed of fourteen buildings that are either triplexes or fourplexes. They are varied in size and layout. Some have basements, either finished or unfinished and/or walkout, and all have either a deck or patio, or both.
Most units have two bedrooms and all have at least one or two bathrooms. Since the units are not in a straight line, there is more privacy than is the case with most cluster housing. Each has an unattached one-car garage.
Glen Ridge is a housing cooperative, a not-for-profit corporation which owns land and buildings and is controlled by the shareholders who also are its resident members. Resident members decide its rules through an elected Executive Board. The Executive Board???s monthly meetings are open and residents bring any concerns to those meetings.
People interested in Glen Ridge must apply for membership and become stockholders of the not-for-profit corporation, shares of which are determined by the unit type. Membership approval includes income and age verification that allows Glen Ridge to maintain a very stable community both socially and fiscally.
Glen Ridge members are offered priority admissions to the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
