Kelly McDermott believes housing is a basic human right, and has dedicated her professional career to advocating for and creating housing opportunities for individuals and families.
She is a passionate, thoughtful, results driven leader in the housing and community development field, with a track record of success in directing and managing administrative and operational departments, including managing financial assets, physical assets and human capital.
Kelly has demonstrated expertise in effecting change in complex and underperforming programs as well as driving successful implementation of projects funded by a federal, state, and local funding sources. In 2015 Kelly was named Developer of Year by the CT Housing Coalition.
Kelly has served in the positions of Interim Managing Director of Multifamily Housing at the CT Housing Finance Authority; Executive Director at the Wallingford Housing Authority; Director of Planning & Modernization at the East Hartford Housing Authority; and a number of leadership positions at the City of Bridgeport and Town of Stratford.
Kelly holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Central CT State University where she graduated with Honors and also served as the Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter President and was recognized by the College as Volunteer of the year.
Outside of her career, Kelly enjoys hiking, and has summited some of the largest mountains in the US, the Incan Trail and Mount Kilimanjaro this July. Beyond that, you can find her spending time quilting, singing with the Greater Middletown Chorale and volunteering in her community.
Sophia joined EHM in June of 2023. Since her start in the affordable housing industry nearly ten years ago, her passion has always been to develop and sustain quality housing for all. More recently, she served as Assistant Director at the Wallingford Housing Authority where she was responsible for overseeing daily operations as well as managing all grant related projects for the agency. With experience in both HCV and HUD Multifamily Housing Programs, she was successful in expanding their federal housing subsidy portfolio by implementing both a Project-Based Voucher and Section 811 Program prior to her leadership position.
Sophia is an active member of the CT Chapter of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (CONN-NAHRO) where she sits on the scholarship committee. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI.
Outside of EHM, Sophia enjoys traveling the world with close family and friends.

Stephany joined EHM in 2019 in her current role as Regional Property Manager for the Eastern CT region, overseeing HUD, USDA, CHFA, and DOH properties. She started her Property Management career in 2007 in Massachusetts first as a Site Manager of a HUD 202/8 elderly housing property followed by a promotion to Regional Manager in 2010 supervising a multi-state affordable housing elderly/disabled portfolio. Stephany holds certifications as a Certified Professional of Occupancy, Accredited Residential Manager, and National Affordable Housing Professional. She is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston, MA. Stephany is committed to providing the highest level of service to owners, residents, and staff for Elderly Housing Management.
Mary joined EHM as a Property Manager for Meadow View in Newington, CT upon its opening in 2012. In 2015, she became the Regional Manager for the Northwest region, overseeing HUD and USDA properties in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Since beginning her career in affordable housing in 2006, Mary has specialized in senior housing, and is dedicated to building positive relationships and experiences for the residents of managed properties and their communities. She is committed to providing the highest level of service to residents, owners, and staff for Elderly Housing Management. Mary holds certifications as a Certified Occupancy Specialist, Certified Professional of Occupancy, and Public Housing Manager. She has a BA in English Literature from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT.
